This is a very unusual Gibson Master Model. This mandolin was a gift to a departing employee from Charlie Derrington and is signed by Danny Roberts. This one was built with a lacquer finish because there was not enough time to complete the varnish finish before the retiring employees departure. It was built with red spruce and hyde glue as all other Master Models and of course has the MM case. This one was also built without a pickguard and has a radius fingerboard with scooped extension. It was also built not built with Waverlys as they were hard to get at that time according to Danny Roberts. It is in excellent condition having a ding on the lower edge near the strap button and scratch near the lower point that looks to have been touched up. This is a great sounding mandolin and cuts very well in a Jam.
