The Mandolin Store determines the most efficient shipping carrier for your order. FedEx is our preferred carrier for most domestic shipments. US Shipments out of the Continental US or to an APO must be shipped via USPS and require additional postage. International shipments normally ship USPS. Instruments over $500 are sent signature required. Domestic shipments require a street address for delivery. Additional charges apply for delivery address changes after an item has been shipped. FedEx charges for the Delivery Intercept service. If you refuse shipping on a package and it is returned to us you will not be refunded the shipping cost. You will be still be responsible for the return shipping fees.
Continental U.S. Shipping & Handling Rates Shipping automatically calculates based on the weight of the items in your shopping cart. Most instruments ship for free in the Continental USA. $20.00 each to ship cases in the Cont USA (Shipping is non - refundable if returned). If multiple cases are ordered, this will be added to your order after it is placed
International Accessory Shipping & Handling Rates If items fit in a Small Flat Rate Box - 8-5/8" x 5-3/8" x 1-5/8" below is the cost. This cost is the default shipping cost for all INT accessory orders. If your order will not fit in this size box we will email you for approval of the additional shipping costs.

International Instrument Shipments - NO RETURNS ON SHIPMENTS OUTSIDE THE USA. Unless your item is broken in transit, there are no returns. Shipping will calculate once you have entered all of your shipping information into the checkout system and before you finalize your purchase. Some countries we only accept bank wire transfers from due to the amount of credit card fraud. Among those are Malaysia and Singapore.
Duties and Taxes International orders may be subject to duties and taxes. The recipient is responsible for payment of applicable duties, taxes and other fees. Please contact your customs office for information on duties, taxes and restricted items. Shipments within the state of AZ are required to pay 9.5% sales tax. Shipments outside of Arizona are not required to pay Arizona sales tax.
Return Policy (Applies to USA shipments only)In the Fall,Winter, & Spring, it's important to leave your instrument sit for 24 hours before you open it to allow it to acclimate. Sudden temperature changes can cause finish checking. Therefore, we offer an 48 hour evaluation period on instruments with the following exceptions: in store sales, international sales, clearance items, special orders, and trades - no approval period on these. If an instrument is to be returned you must us advise us at, sales@themandolinstore.com, and the instrument must be in route back to us the next business day after the inital 48 hours from the time the instrument was delivered. You will be refunded the cost of the instrument less shipping - fees for ground are listed below. Express shipments would be additional. Customers are responsible for any and all damage done to the instrument while in there possession. The Mandolin Store is not liable for incorrect spelling, pricing errors, incorrect mfg specifications or grammatical inaccuraccies.
Shipping Damage
If you instruments arrives damaged please contact us immediately. We will pick that instrument up and send a replacement immediately. If a replacement is not available, then we will issue a full refund.
Return Shipping Fees
We ship instruments outbound for free only if you keep them. The following charges only apply if the item is returned. This covers our outbound shipping, insurance, and handling expenses. If you choose to upgrade your shipping you will be out the cost plus the return shipping fees below. Customers are also responsible for return shipping and insurance.

Special Orders / Custom Instruments
Special order custom instruments require a 20% non-refundable deposit. That deposit can be in the form of a cash payment or an instrument trade in of equal or greater value. The balance is due upon completion of the instrument and delivery to The Mandolin Store. If you default on these terms, you may lose you deposit and the instrument may be sold.
Warranties
In the event of a warranty problem, customers are responsible for both inbound and outbound shipping. Shipping charges are not covered under any manufacturer's warranties. New instrument warranties are good to the original owner only. Those warranties are as follows: Weber, Martin, Collings, Gibson, Breedlove, Lafferty, Phoenix, Eastman, & The Loar carry a limited lifetime warranty to the original owner. Kentucky, Trinity College, Rover, and Godin, are 1 year.
